For one of my birthdays in the midst of horse mania, I was given the book Grace and Beauty: A Study of the Horse -- a book of Gabriele Boiselle's incredible photographs of Arabian horses. Let's just say it's amazing that the pages are still bound together. I spent hours looking at those photos and hours more sketching the images. But I didn't realize until a couple years ago when I picked up a camera in seriousness how much that book would influence me. Only now do I recognize the photographs as truly exceptional images of the personality of this charismatic breed. That book, after all it has already done for me, is now inspiring me to get out there and photograph the animal that I've been most in love with my entire life.
